What it brings

What It Brings to Your Mind:
Myrrh has a deep, solemn aroma that helps guide the mind into an introspective, inward state. Its rich resinous scent feels like stepping into an old wooden room — warm, still, and protected. When thoughts feel unsettled or the day feels emotionally heavy, Myrrh helps create a grounded atmosphere, allowing the mind to sink, breathe, and return to a deeper sense of peace.

What It Brings to Your Body:
Myrrh is valued for its protective and purifying qualities, often used in diluted body-care rituals to support skin comfort and renewal. When blended with a carrier oil, it can be used for gentle massage to ease physical tension, support circulation, and bring comfort to tired areas of the body. Its rich, resinous warmth also makes it especially suited for dry, mature, or weather-stressed skin.

The story behind each drop

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) belongs to the Burseraceae plant family. It is native to Northeast Africa and parts of Western Asia, especially coastal regions such as Somalia, Yemen, and Ethiopia.

Since ancient times, Myrrh has been treasured as both a sacred aromatic resin and a protective balm. It was used in religious ceremonies, burial rituals, incense, skincare preparations, and traditional healing practices. In ancient Egypt, it was valued for skin protection and preservation; in Greek and Roman medicine, it appeared in medicinal formulas; and across the Middle East, it became a precious trade material carried along desert routes. In medieval Europe, Myrrh remained an important ceremonial resin, often associated with devotion, purity, and protection. Its long history can be found across Biblical, Islamic, Greek, and Roman texts, where it appears as a symbol of healing, offering, and sacred care.

Layered and solemn, Myrrh feels like entering an old study filled with warm wood and quiet incense — a scent that invites you to slow down, listen inward, and return to stillness.

A simple ritual

Best for quiet evenings, reflective moments, and times when you want a deep resinous aroma to make your space feel grounded, still, and zen.

When you are in a hurry

Quick Inhalation | Add 1 drop of essential oil onto a tissue, handkerchief, or aroma stone. Hold it around an arm’s length away, take a slow breath, and let the scent gently bring you back to the present moment.

Note: Avoid applying undiluted essential oil directly onto the skin.

When you will be staying in the same space for a while

Aroma Diffuser / Burner | Add 8–10 drops of essential oil to every 100ml of water to create a calm aromatic atmosphere and ground the air around you.

When your body feels sore or tired

Massage | Add 8–10 drops of essential oil to every 20ml of carrier oil. Gently massage onto the body to support relaxation and ease physical tension.

When the weight of the day feels too much

Bath Ritual | Add 4–6 drops of essential oil to bath water. Let the warm water and aroma help your body unwind after a long day.

When you want mental clarity and inner peace

Meditation Support | Apply properly diluted essential oil onto the wrists, or diffuse during meditation to create a calmer, more focused space.

Ritual Pairing

Lavender + Myrrh + Frankincense

A soft resinous blend that begins with gentle floral calm, deepens into warm stillness, and settles into quiet grounding.

Lavender opens the blend with a soft, delicate herbal-floral note. Myrrh follows with a warm, deep resinous presence, while Frankincense brings a calm, steady woody finish. Together, they create a layered floral–resinous aroma that supports deeper meditation, eases inner restlessness, and helps the body and mind slowly return to a more grounded, balanced, and gently held state.

Ideal for meditation, evening grounding rituals, emotional tension, inner restlessness, or moments when you want to feel calmer, steadier, and softly supported.
